Fight for it

Aug 15, 2025

Let this be a reminder: no comfort zone trap, no “safe” decision to please friends or family, and no outer circumstance should EVER stop you from chasing your true big dream, NOT the comfortable one.

And when I say truly, I mean the one you want deep in your bones.

You know what I mean. That “safe” dream still looks impressive from the outside, maybe even makes your parents proud, maybe keeps your inner critic quiet for a while. But deep down, you know it’s NOT THE THING! It’s not the dream that will make you smile on your deathbed instead of whispering “what if”!

So today, we’re getting rid of the “what if” voice. We’re going to name the blocks holding you back from the real dream AND burn them down.

1. If you have to work hard anyway, do it for something you want in your bones.
Life is hard either way. We suffer either way. So why not suffer for the thing YOU want - the thing that no one else understands?

This morning I was listening to one of my favourite podcasts, The Mindset Mentor, episode “The Hard Truth About Making Your Dreams Come True.” Rob Dial said it perfectly: hard times will come regardless, so make them worth it.

That’s how I’ve trained myself to become immune to people’s “but everything’s already fine, why rock the boat?” comments about my big dream.

2. Build a “delusionally realistic” plan.
Break it down into milestones:

  •  By the end of August → X, Y
  •  By the end of September → X, Y
  •  Big goal by → [Your date]

BUT here’s the catch - only set deadlines for the work you can control. Super important. Your daily actions. NOT other people’s decisions. This is what I’ve set for myself: a clear deadline for my work, who I’ll reach out to, and what needs to be done by when.

Third - watch out for Day 19.

I learned this from The Mel Robbins Podcast.
Day 19 (or maybe it was 17, you get the idea) is when the initial enthusiasm fades and the hard part starts. That’s when humans LOVE to chase the next shiny thing.

The trick? You. Stick. To. The. Plan.
If it needs improvement, sure, tweak it. But don’t abandon it for another shiny distraction.

Fourth - make your brain believe it’s already happened.

Your brain doesn’t have eyes - it only knows the story you tell it.

So make sure your inner talk matches your vision, so your brain thinks it’s already real and stops screaming “danger!” every time you step into the unfamiliar.

I’m not gonna lie, the first part of this year was the toughest I’ve ever had, and I was THAT close to shutting everything down (maybe I’ll share that story one day because I know so many can relate).

But then… I let go. I took a break. Clarified my values. Got brutally honest with myself about my REAL goal, NOT the seemingly big goal that would satisfy others.

And now, I’M BACK, BABY.
And so are you ;)
