Which of your dreams are on pause?
Nov 14, 2025
When do you think it’s too late to change careers, learn something new, or simply slow down for a while to regain control over your life? There are so many opinions holding us back, and we often don’t even realize how heavy their influence is until the old life and patterns stop working and life forces (or redirects) us toward what’s actually meant for us…
Tell me about it, because this week I’m doing something that the me from five years ago would have NEVER believed in a million years. She would’ve said, “I’m far too advanced, and this path is my forever path.”
Ladies and gentlemen…
I am back to art school.
Yep. At 32.
Yep, while being a full-time artist and designer.
And yep, while already having an art school diploma.
Anna never stops surprising you… I know.
Some of you are probably thinking… “Just one question. WHY?!”
Because we can’t think, analyze, or “repeat our way” into new levels in life. We need guidance - someone from the outside who doesn’t know our inner limitations and can give us the AHA moments we’d need weeks to reach on our own.
So I’m going back to art school to finally quiet that never-ending inner whisper:
“What if we tried?”
This is something I’ve never shared with anyone. You’re the first ones to hear it.
My childhood passion has always been interiors.
This is what I do.
This is what I collaborate with my dream clients on.
This is what I mentor YOU about.
BUT! What you didn’t know is that in parallel, as a kid → teenager → young woman, I was secretly trying to get into fashion illustration. Stylish characters, color, makeup, locations… I dreamt about being part of that world. And I actually pushed myself for a while.
Until I hit a wall.
My figure drawing sucked.
My proportions sucked.
And that fire started fading because I had no one to guide me. NO ONE to point me in the right direction.
I LOVED the idea of fashion sketches inside interiors… but I lacked mentorship and, honestly, the foundations - the ones I keep preaching to you in every drawing video.
You have me now, so you know what it takes to get stunning results.
Back then, I believed the one myth that destroys so many dreams: TALENT.
That you either “can” draw people or you can’t. After two years of no progress, I assumed, okay, that’s just me.
Interiors, on the other hand, clicked instantly. My foundation was strong, so my confidence grew, and I built a whole career around it.
But what’s meant for us… always finds us.
My curiosity for fashion grew again. But I didn’t want to become a typical fashion illustrator. I wanted to EXPAND my empire. Integrate humans into my work. Create visual stories. Imagine interiors MEETING fashion! Imagine sketching not only homes but the people who live in them!
I made a few fashion sketches, but that was it.
My inner critic was LOUD:
“This is silly. Don’t even think about it.”
Then 2025 hit, and my entire world collapsed in the best way possible. My creativity needed expression, storytelling, and LIFE… while the external world of my work was stuck in quiet ASMR tutorials (maybe that’s how some of you discovered me).
Insight of the year:
Burnout comes from misalignment, not from working too much.
When you’re in love with your work, burnout becomes very unlikely.
So now, knowing what I know… I decided to remove the “what if” and simply learn the foundations of figure drawing. To see if this is something I want to pursue professionally, alongside interiors, because trust me, I’m not abandoning my other passion. I’m just shaping the vehicle that will bring the spark back.
And I want YOU to never lose yours.
There is not a single age that should make you feel “too young” or “too old” for your passions.
Every day you spend on what calls you, even one day, is worth it.
With big drawing energy,
Anna at @andshedrawsbig
