Your clients don't see what you see
Jul 31, 2026
Imagine you finally found the courage to start your own business. You're slowly securing your first clients, projects are coming in, and you're doing EVERYTHING you can to make each one perfect.
You send the final files to your client, close your laptop, enjoy a few peaceful minutes, and then...
Your heart starts racing because you suddenly remember... that you forgot one CRUCIAL detail!!
What do you do?
Do you send a follow-up saying there was a mistake and you need more time to fix it?
Or...
Do you let it become your first business mistake without saying a word because... they don't know anyway? Guess what I decided to do.
So, when I landed my very first high-end real estate client, they hired me to create three colored floor plans for a five-million-dollar house on the island of Sylt in northern Germany - the mecca of luxury.
At that point, I had only completed two projects, so naturally I already felt like a PRO :D
Then I clicked SEND...
...and immediately realized I'd forgotten to...
ATTENTION...
Turn on the shadow layer.
THE SHADOWS!!
The very thing that gives a sketch depth, atmosphere, and that beautiful 3D feeling!!
I genuinely thought my career was over...
So why am I telling you this on a Friday evening? Basically, for two reasons.
First, find someone who believes in you even more than you believe in yourself. And second...
Become that person for yourself.
Because my entrepreneurial boyfriend, who was sitting right next to me, stopped me and said something I'll never forget:
"They don't know the shadows are missing. Stay confident. THIS IS YOUR STYLE."
That sentence changed the way I think about my work for the rest of my career.
EXACTLY!!
Clients don't know what your style "should" look like for their specific project.
So... why be nervous?
If they chose you, they already love your aesthetics, your work ethic, your vision, and the brand you've built.
And yes...
That floor plan was approved.
Now, a small note.
Delivering the highest quality possible is always a MUST. I'm not talking about being careless.
I'm talking about those moments when you start doubting yourself:
"This doesn't look as good as Artist X's work..."
"What if I made a mistake?"
"No one will take me seriously."
My friend...
ANYTHING can be sold.
So why not... US?
Whatever you create comes from your own hand, and no one else can recreate your exact style. So... create!
Allow mistakes. Allow imperfections. Accept whatever comes out of your imagination and flows through your hand.
Because no one lives inside your hand. Only you do.
So how would anyone know this isn't the best thing you've ever created?
And even if it isn't...
ACT LIKE IT IS.
Because...
IT ACTUALLY IS! ;)
